Vlookup vs Index Match – And The Winner Is

Vlookup is (or maybe was; still is though) my favourite solution in Excel when it comes to search/lookup for a specific value from a range of cells and “autofill” with the value of a corresponding selected cell on the another column – in short, Vlookup save us from the torture of manually comparing matching values between 2 lists which humanly don’t make sense to do so … manually.

That is until I saw another claimed-to-be-better solution – Index Matching … checkout this version of the alternative Vlookup solution :
